Put on your socks and get ready for Africa

The Northwest/KLM flights from Detroit to Arusha, Tanzania, will take more than 16 hours, with a change of planes in Amsterdam. How will I keep busy all that time? With new warnings about blood clots in legs of long-distance airline passengers, I'm afraid to sleep lest a clot finish me off while I'm over the Atlantic. En route, I will be testing some Ames Walker compression Travel Socks to see if they really work to avoid leg aches and deep vein thrombosis.
